Hire Local Horse Evaluators

Are you buying from a distance and feeling some uncertainty? Would you like a qualified second opinion without having to fly your trainer out to see the horse you've chosen? We have horse evaluators that will go and see the horse you desire and fill out a detailed evaluation form based on your needs. They work for you and are an unbiased voice that can give you some security that you are making the right decision in buying the horse, or they will give you the feedback necessary so that you don't make a purchasing mistake. You will have full access to speak with them after the evaluation.

Video Services in Germany
|

If you are looking to buy a horse in Germany but don't want to make the trip out, we can arrange a videographer/photographer to go out to the site and take first hand media for you which can be emailed immediately.
A single media package - $225.00 plus costs (travel and accommodations, originating point, Heidelberg, Germany)
The video includes up to 4 segments such as:
In-hand, free moving, dressage, jumping, free jumping, trail riding, lunging
Each additional segment is $45.
Photographs will be taken of each segment requested as long as the lighting is sufficient. Client will get the best pictures that come out of the shoot. Clients will be emailed pictures and provided pictures on a CD as well if requested along with their video which will also be presented on CD. Pictures will not be printed.

Hire an Agent!

For those Buyers who are uneasy about going through a sale without a professional to guide them, HOC offers Agent Service at an hourly rate to guide you through the sales process. When you have found a horse and you want to make sure the vetting and sale go smoothly, give us a call and we can arrange for the necessary paperwork and mediate the sale so everyone gets what they want in a fair and just way. This service is a much more cost effective alternative to using a commission based agency.
We charge $120.00 for sales consulting including necessary paperwork, if consulting extends beyond a 2 hour period in total an additional $60.00 will be charged per hour. Services offered include acting as a mediator during the sales process or during disputes that occur during the sale. Provide forms that give a buyer first right of refusal as well as protect the seller prior to vet check. Provide bill of sale and provide banking service for money transfer. Provide shipping, vetting and insurance advice as well as aiding in the arrangements.
Often during sales no boundaries are given when both parties enter into a sale. This lack of boundaries even if they don't seem significant can cause a lot of discomfort through the sales process. For example, as a buyer you may make assumptions such as having first refusal. During sales, buyers and sellers often communicate quite a bit and there is a false sense of intimacy created where it seems almost insulting to get things on paper. This is a mistake and can be a very expensive for you. Back to our example with the buyer who made the assumption that she had first right of refusal: she had flown out to see the horse and paid for the vetting. A few days had passed while she waited for her vet to look at the x-rays. All of a sudden she gets an email that the seller was very sorry but her daughter decided that she just couldn't part with her horse. Suddenly, the buyer is out several thousand dollars with no written contract to back them up. By using an experienced agent, she can prepare you so you avoid potential pitfalls that can occur that can cause frustration and loss of a horse and money. If the proper paperwork is signed prior to the deal getting started and all the bases are covered the sales go through smoothly with both parties coming out getting what they want.

Feedback System

The HOC Feedback System is a unique feature in the world of horse sales. This system allows both buyers and sellers to provide feedback on each other based on their experience during a horse sale. Did the seller provide the funds in full and in a prompt way? Was the horse the same as described in the profile? If for example, you had a great experience with a horse breeder, you may want to recommend them to other HOC users.

Want Ads

Horse buyers can go into their guest or member account and fill out a Buyer Profile online form. The Buyer Profile is a series of questions, which seeks to understand the detailed needs of the buyer. Some questions include the buyers riding history, what the rider plans to do with their horse in the next couple of years as well as all the crucial details such as height, age and price range. Submitting the Buyer Profile is easy, just go into your user account and click on:
Buyers can edit and delete Buyer Profiles from their user account at anytime.
Buyer Profiles will automatically be posted to our 'Want Ads' page. The advantage of this kind of submission is that sellers with horses that match your profile will contact you directly, thereby saving you some horse hunting time. The other advantage is when you are out horse shopping and a seller asks you for some background on your riding history as well as details about what you are looking for in your next horse - you can always just send them to HOC's Want Ads page for a detailed write up!
